Thank You, Maria!

Maria has been Joshua's nanny since March. She just had her last day on Friday and will be moving back to Texas. She was great with Joshua... and not to mention Heather and Chris! We will miss her very much and wish her the best in Texas. We're also looking forward to having Joshua's new nanny, Christine, start in a few weeks! In the meantime we persuaded (and it took a lot of persuading) Mimi, Uncle Thomas, and Grandma to come visit and spend some time with Joshua!

Go Mariners!

We took Joshua to his first Major League Baseball Game a couple weeks ago. The Mariners played the Cleveland Indians. We went with several of Joshua's friends and had a great time! Unfortunately the Mariners did not fare so well, losing the game 10-0. Oh well... there will be plenty more games to go to!

It's hot in those bleachers! A person's got to keep cool!

Maybe someday my picture will be up there... and then Mom and Dad can retire!

Did we mention the score was 10-0?

Aunt Amanda Visits Seattle!

Amanda had a chance to come out to Seattle and hang out with Joshua a few weeks ago. We had a great time and cant' wait for her to come back!

Tricks in the Highchair!

Joshua spends a fair amount of time in his highchair eating and watching us eat. Turns out it is a good time to catch him doing some of his tricks!

Sometimes the food ends up in the mouth, too!

We're getting to be good at clapping!

That sippy cup is still a bit of a challenge... little bit of choking and a lot of water on the shirt!

Summertime!

Summer has arrived in Seattle! We actually set an all-time record with a high of 103 F last week!! That may not sound so bad to those of you in Texas and Arizona, but just imagine it without air conditioning!! Fortunately we've been able to keep Joshua cool in his backyard pool. Here are a few pictures...

Keepin' cool!

What a great pool!

Layin' out...

He still prefers the tupperware to his toys!

Still eating everything!

This is great!

Deep thoughts...

Happy Independence Day!!

We spent the 4th of July on our first family camping trip! We loaded up the car and headed out to a campsite in the Cascade Moutains. We were joined by all of Joshua's friends from our PEPS group. There were a few bumps in the road but overall things went well and Joshua seemed to have a good time. Here are a few of the pictures...

It was a bit hot in the tent, so this was how Joshua took his naps. Not such a bad deal for him!

We waded in the frigid mountain stream...

Joshua seemed to like it the first time at least!

Here's our PEPS group and all of Joshua's friends!

This camping stuff isn't so bad!

We hiked a long ways to find this spot!

Naked camping!

Who knew giraffe could taste so good?!

Did you feel the earth move? At least he's well-fed!

Look at this great tent!

This camping is hard work!

Surprise! Happy 60th Birthday, Grandpa!

Grandpa turned 60 a couple of weeks ago! To celebrate we managed to throw together a surprise party in Seattle. Grandpa thought the only reason he was making the trip was to babysit Joshua while Mom and Dad were at work. Little did he know that Uncles Mike and Andy had flown out the night before to surprise him! Turns out he was completely surprised and everyone had a great weekend!

Surprise!

Still surprised!

That Andy sure is talented! And as a result no one else was able to use the party favors...

Three men and an old man!

Sixty!!

Wait a minute, that cake says 68!! Not funny!

That's better!

There are fire codes in Seattle that prohibit indoor bonfires so we went with the individual numbers ;)
