Four-Week Birthday!!

Joshua turned four-weeks old today!! We've been busy lately between Mimi and Uncle Thomas visiting, the Thanksgiving Holiday, and some lousy football! Here are some new pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Hello all,

  We just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the phone calls, gifts, and good wishes. For those of you who we haven't called back or gotten thank you cards out to, we promise we are trying! Joshua has been keeping us busy, but we didn't want you to think that we had forgotten about you.  We appreciate you all!

We're all getting settled in at home! We've had a number of visitors, most recently Chris' parents. Joshua is doing well... he has a great appetite, is gaining weight, and is surprisingly strong! Here a few recent pictures...

Introducing... Joshua Raymond Naumann!!

Weighing in at 8 pounds, 0 ounces... Joshua was born at 1406 Pacific Standard Time. Mom and baby are doing great though both are exhausted! Mom had a rough labor with over 3 hours of pushing!! We were very close to needing a C-section, but in the end everything worked out perfectly! We wanted to thank everyone for their well-wishes and prayers - we couldn't have done it without them.

She's Complete!

Heather just had an exam at 0900... 10cm dilated and 100% effaced! The plan is to let her "labor down" for an hour to let the baby drop a little more. Around 1000 she'll start pushing! Yeah!!

The First 17 Hours...

It only took 12 hours of induction to go from 3cm to 5cm!! So the epidural was finally placed at 2AM! What a relief! We were able to sleep for about 4 hours. This morning the cervix is at 6.5cm and the epidural continues to work great! Here are some pictures to document the progress:

Heather went in for her OB appointment this morning.  Much to her relief, they decided that enough is enough and it is time to induce!!  She's checked into the hospital and just started her pitocin drip!  Keep us in your thoughts for a speedy, painless, and productive labor :)

Due date - Hmmmm???

Well today is the official due date and thus far, no activity.  I was really hoping he was just waiting for the exact day! My next appointment is next Wednesday, so unless something happens between now and then, you'll hear from me on Wednesday. Hope all is well with everyone!

Latest doctor appointment

I went to the doctor today - everything still looks good. I'm 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced. At this rate, I should have the baby in at least 7 weeks - 1 additional cm dilated per week! I hope not!  Till next time....

The problem with fall...

39 week update

I went to the doctor today - 2 cm dilated, but still no signs of labor.  Just a waiting game for now I guess. She said the baby looks good and whenever he is ready, we'll all be glad to meet him.  We took some pictures this weekend, so I'll try to post them later. The doctor thought the baby was over 7 pounds, and you can definitely see that he is bigger on the pictures. Hope all is well with everyone - send me your labor inducing thoughts please!

37 week update

I went to the doctor today. Everything looks great. She said the baby's head is low and I'm dilated 1cm, but she thought I still had about 2 more weeks to go.  We'll keep you updated.

We put a Pack-n-Play on the second floor so we don't have to constantly go up and down the stairs.

This is my new favorite seat! The ottoman is still on backorder.

As if we didn't already have enough trash cans... We now have one for garbage, one for recycling, one for glass, and one for dirty diapers.

36 3/7 weeks

Still growing... I'm starting to see the doctor weekly, so we'll keep you posted! FYI, this is where the first pictures of the new baby will be posted - no cell phones are allowed in the delivery room, but there's free internet!

34 Weeks

I went to the doctor on Monday and everything looks fine. As you can see, he is continuing to grow.

Adventures in Houston

So while in Houston - I had the chance to visit with family and friends. Above is a picture of me and my friend Melanie's son. He is so cute! I hope my baby is this well behaved!

These pictures are from the baby shower I had in Houston on August 3rd. It was beautiful and we got tons of cute baby gifts. Thanks to everyone who came and especially those who worked so hard to put it together - you know who you are.
